Conductor Emeritus
Paul Lindblad

Paul has been with OPCC since its inception in 1981. He was assistant director for many years and became director in 2001 following in the footsteps of his mentor and first OPCC director, Dr. Victor Hildner. Paul carried on the traditions set down by Dr. Hildner, and under his leadership, the quality and musicianship of OPCC grew and became recognized and appreciated by the community.

Paul stepped down as director in April 2024, and OPCC bestowed upon him the honorary title of conductor emeritus in appreciation of his 43 years of commitment to OPCC, including the last 23 years as artistic director and conductor. We appreciate his advice and guidance and look forward to his participation in future concerts by conducting one of the program selections.

Paul Lindblad received his undergraduate degree in Music Education and a Master’s Degree in Church Music from Concordia University Chicago in River Forest, Illinois. Mr. Lindblad earned a Kodály Certificate from Silver Lake College, Manitowoc, Wisconsin. He has studied with world famous choral conductor, Paul Christiansen, and International Kodály music education specialist Katinka Daniel.

Mr. Lindblad has completed extensive studies in organ performance, vocal technique, and conducting under the mentorships of Victor Hildner, Douglas Neslund, and Robert Rogers.

He has also been the Director of Liturgics at St. John Lutheran Church in Forest Park.
